Before and After Example
Your dental needs will be completely confidential, of course, but this pro bono client has authorized us to share these “before and after” photos. The young lady – Yahaira - lost her front teeth in a motorcycle accident five years ago. She received a temporary bridge at that time because it was all she could afford. That bridge quickly broke. Yahaira’s two young children have never known her with front teeth.

Yahaira arriving at BioMax for her first appointment: Yahaira had other dental issues as well. The first appointment consisted of a complete examination including full X rays.
As a result the dentist, Dra Yarisa Ripoll, proceeded with extraction of two severely infected back teeth and the filling of two large dental caries.
Most dental tourists arriving with a history of first world dental care will require one less appointment than Yahaira.

Senior Dentist Dra Yarisa Ripoll Cid

”Before” close up: During Yahaira’s second appointment Dra Ripoll preformed two root canals. Root canals require a few days of recovery and a follow up examination.

The third appointment started with the follow up examination of the root canals. The main purpose of this appointment was the preparation for the support for the new bridge. Molds were taken at the conclusion of this procedure. Please note the spotless, modern examination room.

View of digital X-ray equipment: The BioMax Dental Clinic uses the latest X-ray equipment which uses 90% less radiation than older methods and can display results on a computer screen for the dentist to consult during treatment. X-ray results can be downloaded to electronic media or emailed so clients can have “before and after” X-ray dental records to share with a dentist back home.

Consulting the digital X ray on laptop: One advantage of this modern X ray equipment is that the X ray can be viewed easily and quickly during a procedure as you see Dra Ripoll doing in this picture.

Here you see molds being taken for use by the dental lab to make the porcelain and metal bridge.

Adjustments to the bridge: During the fourth appointment adjustments were made to the bridge for comfort and fit before permanently attaching the bridge.

The sophisticated process to attach the bridge includes ultraviolet light to cure the modern glues used to permanently affix the bridge, as seen here.

This “after” photo is provided purely as counterpoint to the “before” photo above.

Our happy client seen here smiling with Doctor Ripoll. Work was finished in a timely manner so Yahaira could travel to Santo Domingo for Dominican Mother’s Day to show off her new teeth to her mother, children, family and friends.
Yahaira is very happy. John Kane, Dental Tours S.A., is writing this on Dominican Mother’s Day, May 25th. While visiting with her family Yahaira called me and put her father and children on the telephone to “meet me” and thank me even though none of them - including Yahaira - speak English and I speak very little Spanish. I could hear the joy in their voices. That was a very dear gift for me on Dominican Mother’s Day. I know that I will enjoy this business because of the pleasure I take from helping clients who can afford major dental care - and possibly a vacation too - because of our lower price!
Yahaira received the following dental services: Adult cleaning and examine, complete series X rays, (two) two-surface composite resin fillings rear teeth, (two) retention pins, (two) root canals anterior, scaling full mouth, (two) simple extractions, (five) porcelain on non-precious metal crowns, and (two) re-cement bridge per abutment.
